Only for students/faculty/research scholars currently studying in Indian colleges/universities with valid college ID card
The 5-day workshop will be like 5 days the way we work in office. Though it says 10-5, the amount of work for everyone is very elaborated and all participants need to work hard for these 5-days...
And as always, tool installation will be a part of this workshop. Will send instructions and ICC2 binaries a day before the workshop starts
Here's the 5-day Syllabus:
Day 1
Aim: To study about input collaterals needed for design planning and flat pnr in ICC2 (Theory – 1 hour, Lab – 5 hours)
- Setup Open-source synthesis flow
- Setup MILKYWAY flow to generate technology file and standard cell FRAM views
- Review basic flow for converting .lib to .db using LC_SHELL
- Study interconnect technology file (ITF) and use grdgenxo from StarRC to generate TLUPlus files
Day 2
Aim: To configure ICC2 scripts for flat design planning and PNR (Theory – 1 hours, Lab – 5 hours)
- Design and decide chip area based on width and height of chip OR utilization factor and aspect ratio of core
- Place IO pins in area between core and die
- Create power straps within core
- Steps to place_opt, clock_opt, route_opt and chip_finish for flat design
Day 3
Aim: To do pre-layout timing analysis block using ICC2 internal timing engine (Theory – 1 hours, Lab – 5 hours)
- Steps to generate MCMM file and do initial timing estimation
- report_qor and report_timing
- Analyze skew, setup and hold
Day 4
Aim: To configure ICC2 scripts for hierarchical design planning and PNR (Theory – 1 hours, Lab – 5 hours)
- LEF/DEF/LIB/DB generation for hierarchy for top-level hierarchical PD
- Steps to pre-place hierarchies, decaps and power grid generation
- Steps to place_opt, clock_opt, route_opt and chip_finish for hierarchical design
- report_qor, report_timing, skew, setup and hold analysis
Day 5
Aim: To review ICC2 reference methodologies and project work on ICC2 flat design planning/pnr (Theory - 1 hours, Lab – 5 hours)
- Review design planning and pnr automation steps using ICC2 Reference Methodology (RM)
- Project to setup ICC2 design planning and pnr RM for real industry grade design
