Hi
VSDSquadron Mini RISC-V board now supports Li-Fi technology, marking a significant step towards a more secure future using RISC-V technology.
In an incredible achievement, two of our proud VSD students, including a second-year engineering student from IIIT Bangalore, have
developed a simple yet innovative multi-step authentication protocol for lockers. This protocol leverages the power of Li-Fi technology and a simple smartphone app to unlock the locker, ensuring enhanced security and cost-effectiveness.
Here's how it works:
- Upon successful authentication, the app switches on the flashlight for a secret fixed amount of time.
- This duration is precise to the
millisecond, making it impossible to replicate manually.
- The sensor detects this light and opens the locker only if the duration matches exactly.
This method makes the locker highly secure while remaining cost-effective, showcasing the ingenuity and potential of the next generation of engineers.
I am incredibly proud of our students' achievements and invite you to watch this video for more
