Hi
Happy New Year! I hope this message finds you well and rejuvenated as we step into another promising year in the dynamic world of VLSI and Semiconductor technology. It's with immense pleasure and a heart full of optimism that I write to you today, not just as professionals in our field but as pioneers shaping the future of technology.
Our industry stands at the forefront of
innovation, constantly evolving and pushing the boundaries of what's possible. It's a world where your contributions as senior chip designers have been nothing short of revolutionary. And as we continue on this journey of discovery and creation, I'm thrilled to share with you an initiative that is close to my heart and, I believe, pivotal to our collective future - the "Chip Design for High School" Program, an endeavor supported by IIIT Bangalore,
Intel, VLSI Society of India (VSI) and VLSI System Design (VSD).
In an inspiring development, school students from 5th to 11th grades are now writing Verilog codes (See images attached), a direct outcome of this program. This is not just an achievement for these young minds but a testament to the potential and passion that awaits harnessing in the field of chip design. Their enthusiasm
and grasp of complex concepts at such a young age is nothing short of astonishing. It reaffirms our belief that the future of the Indian semiconductor mission is bright and promising, especially over the coming 5-6 years.
As senior professionals in this industry, we understand that chip design is not just a skill but an art that requires a deep understanding of fundamentals. Introducing these concepts in schools is a visionary
step, one that bridges the gap between basic education and high-end technological comprehension. This initiative is not just about teaching; it's about inspiring a new generation, about lighting a spark in young minds that will grow into a flame of innovation and progress.
Your role in this journey is invaluable. Your expertise, experiences, and insights are crucial in molding these young enthusiasts into future leaders of our
industry. As we continue to break new ground in chip design, let's also commit to nurturing this budding talent. Let's support this drive to connect fundamentals taught in schools to the intricate world of chip design, complete with practical labs and real-world applications.
Together, we are not just designing chips; we are designing the future. A future that's more innovative, inclusive, and inspiring. I look forward
to your continued support and active participation in this noble endeavor.
Wishing you a year filled with groundbreaking achievements and profound satisfaction.
