On Day 2 of the workshop, you'll dive into combinational logic theory and practice, learning how to design and test various circuits using Verilog HDL. You'll start by designing a 4-bit full adder with a testbench and move on
to designing 2:1 and 4:1 multiplexers. You'll also learn how to design 2×4, 3×8, and 4×2 encoders and priority encoders, a 4-bit comparator, and an 8-bit barrel shifter. Finally, you'll put everything you've learned into practice by designing an Arithmetic & Logic Unit (ALU).
But that's not all! On Day 2,
you'll also get to put your new skills to the test with a series of labs. You'll design and test a dataflow-based 4-bit full adder in Verilog, design and test 2:1 and 4:1 Mux in Verilog, design and test 2×4 decoder, 4×2 encoder, and 4×2 priority encoder in Verilog, and design and test a 4-bit comparator and an 8-bit barrel shifter in Verilog. Finally, you'll bring everything together by designing and testing an ALU in Verilog.
By the end of Day 2, you'll have a solid understanding of combinational logic, Verilog HDL, and hands-on experience designing and testing various circuits. You'll be well on your way to becoming a digital design expert!
