Dear
Only 48 hours left until the registration for VSD-HDP ends! To help you make a decision, we would like to
answer some frequently asked questions. For those who have already registered, we will also be having a sync-up call today.
Q: Are the lectures pre-recorded or will there be live sessions apart from the weekly sync-up?
A: The lectures are a mix of pre-recorded and
reference materials such as links, YouTube videos, and VSD exclusive videos. You will be assigned a project in the first week of HDP, divided into smaller tasks. You will be using the provided materials to complete the tasks and build up your project by the end of the 10th week.
Q: What if some participants finish certain tasks early and need more time for
others?
A: This can be adjusted, simply inform us that you are ready for the next task. We have had similar cases in the past. For example, many people get stuck in the Synthesis and GLS for their design, but if you have experience in GLS, you can move on to PD faster.
Q: Are the designs all small modules? Can you list the top five based on instance count/macro count?
A: You can bring your own designs, such as a RISC-V based SoC. The designs listed on our website are sample small designs, best for beginners, covering all corner cases for RTL2GDS flow. We also have a complex design, OpenMSP multi-core, with 6 clocks and 8 memory
instances.
Q: I took an RTL course at XX institute but did not see results, how is your program different?
A: Our program is different because we are personally and fully involved in the projects and love interacting with students. We have 12 years of experience
in the field.
Q: Is the program held on weekends and online?
A: Yes, the program is held every Saturday from 7pm to 8pm IST and is fully online. Labs will be assigned on Saturday and participants will need to complete them on their laptops during the weekdays,
submitting every Saturday.
Q: What are the required disk space, RAM, and OS for the program?
A: You will need at least 100GB of disk space, 4-6GB of RAM, and Ubuntu 20.04. We will help you install Ubuntu using an Oracle virtual machine on your Windows/MAC
laptop.
If you have any more questions, we would be glad to help. Here's the registration link:
